Jilin University is a leading
national university in China. Its 8 campuses, scattered in 5 districts in Changchun,
have a total area of 5.25 million square meters; total floor space amounts to 2.5
million square meters. The year of 2002 saw the largest enrollment of 59,000 students
in China . Located in a mandarin Chinese speaking area, the University has fully
taken this advantage in the recent years to hold Chinese Language Classes, and trained
more than 2000 persons, effectively helping international friends to understand
China and its culture.

1. Schedule
Summer
classes: mid June thru mid September, 1-week, 2-week, 4-week, and 6-week
classes.
Winter classes: mid December thru mid February, 1-week,
2-week, and 4-week classes.

3. Accommodations:
All students will live in the Jilin University Apartments for foreign experts
and students. Bus stops, bank, post office, shops, and restaurants are all within
walking distance of the apartments.
a. Jilin University Friendship House: double room US$3-10
per day per person, single room US$4-15 per day; equipped with telephone, TV, network
connection socket, and private bathroom with shower; recreation room and cyber-cafe
in the building.
b. The Second Apartment for foreign experts and students:
double room US$3-10 per day per person; equipped with telephone, TV, network connection
socket, and shared bathroom with shower. Recreation room and cyber-café in the building.
c. The Fourth Apartment for foreign experts and students:
double room US$3-10 per day per person; equipped with telephone, TV, network connection
socket, and shared bathroom with shower; recreation room, cyber-café in the building.
Meals: May cook in the kitchen, or have meals in apartment restaurants
or student cafeterias. About US$2-5 per day.
4. Tuitions:
1-week program: US$150.00 per person.
2-week program: US$200.00 per person.
3-week program: US$250.00 per person.
From the 4th week to 8th week, an additional fee of US$50.00 per person will be
charged.
Starting from the 9th week, the additional fee becomes US$30.00 per person.
5. Sightseeing:
So as to let the students “have a feel” of China by themselves, we list several
sightseeing routes as shown in
appendix
2.
6. Registration:
Only in groups, minimum number 8 people.
